Candy & Jeremy is an acoustic group from Nashville, TN. Produced & Recorded by award winning Ben Isaacs. Candy is the daughter of Gospel Music Legend, Coleman Looper (Looper Trio, The Way Travelers, Coleman Looper Family; founder- Grand Ole Gospel Barn in Crossville, TN; Tv - Coleman's Sing Time). Candy & Jeremy are an acoustic family band based in Dickson, Tennessee—just west of Nashville—whose roots run deep in gospel music and ministry. Blending tight family harmonies with an authentic bluegrass, country, and mountain gospel sound, they deliver a powerful, heartfelt experience that resonates with both church audiences and major festival crowds alike. With decades of stage experience and a legacy grounded in tradition, Candy & Jeremy bring more than music—they bring a message. Their ability to connect across generations has made them a standout act for churches, theaters, and large-scale events, offering both musical excellence and genuine ministry in every setting. Candy’s musical heritage began long before she ever stepped on stage. She is the daughter of Coleman Looper, a founding member of the original Looper Trio in the mid-1960s. In the early 1970s, he formed Coleman Looper and the Way Travelers, later signing with Eddie Crook Co. on the Morning Star label. By the late ’70s, Coleman founded and managed the Grand Ole Gospel Barn in Crossville, Tennessee, where he and his wife Marie, along with their six children, ministered through music for more than two decades. It was there that Candy found her voice. Raised on the road and immersed in gospel music from birth, she began singing on stage as a toddler and stepped into full-time ministry with the Coleman Looper Family by the age of eleven. Jeremy’s story is rooted in music just as deeply. Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, he grew up in church where his parents, Terry and Kathie Bear, pastored. His passion for music started early, playing drums in church and developing a lifelong love for worship and ministry. In the spring of 1997, Jeremy joined the Coleman Looper Family—and that same year, he and Candy were married. United by their faith and shared calling, the two became inseparable in both life and ministry. For more than 23 years, Candy and Jeremy traveled across the country alongside her parents, ministering in churches, camp meetings, concerts, festivals, and television programs including TBN’s “Praise the Lord.” In 2018, after 63 years in traveling ministry, Coleman Looper announced his retirement, closing a remarkable chapter for the family. From that legacy, a new journey began. Today, Candy & Jeremy continue their ministry alongside their two sons, Colter and Kayden, carrying on a rich family tradition while creating a sound all their own. Their acoustic style blends bluegrass, country, and mountain gospel into something both timeless and deeply personal. Music is truly a family calling. Colter, now a skilled multi-instrumentalist, sings both lead and third-part harmony alongside Candy & Jeremy, adding depth and drive to the group’s signature sound. Kayden, who is mastering the upright bass—an instrument he’s dreamed of playing since he was young—also contributes vocally, bringing youthful energy and heart to every performance. Both Colter and Kayden are emerging songwriters, with original songs set to be featured on an upcoming project. Rounding out the band is dobro player Scott Bow of Allardt, Tennessee, whose connection to the family runs deep. Scott, along with his wife Tonya, has longstanding ties to the group that trace back to the 1980s, having been involved with both Coleman Looper & the Way Travelers and the Coleman Looper Family. His musicianship and history with the family add an authentic, seasoned layer to the band’s sound. In 2019, Candy & Jeremy recorded their debut album with renowned producer Ben Isaacs and engineer Mark Capps. Their first single, “Worth the Journey,” written by Jeremy, was released during the National Quartet Convention and quickly resonated with audiences for its message of perseverance and faith. The song earned a Dove Award ballot nomination for Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year, followed by another nomination the next year for “This Valley.” Their music and ministry have taken them to notable stages across the country, including performances at Dollywood’s Harvest Festival, the Ark Encounter’s “40 Days & 40 Nights” — the world’s largest Christian music festival — and Sunday Morning Country at the Grand Ole Opry, along with numerous television programs, radio shows, churches, and festivals nationwide. At the heart of everything they do is a clear mission: to share the message of Jesus Christ through song and the Word. Their music speaks to hope, perseverance, and faith in the midst of life’s challenges. Candy & Jeremy believe their calling is simple—to be about the Father’s business. Through every lyric, every testimony, and every stage they step on, their goal is to reach the broken, encourage the weary, and remind listeners that no matter the valley, the journey is worth it.
